Room Secured
It’s been very stressful looking for a place to move to down south near work again -.-
I’ve spent countless months looking for places, contacting people asking and viewing rooms just to be played over and them giving the room away to others etc. I did make another post about that a while ago so wont go too much into this now so lets dive into whats new.
Finally!
At long last I have secured a room, paid all the monies to Hold the room, Deposit and first month rent. It is my room now! I’ll be renting a room in a house with i think around 5 other people, 3 Females and 2 Males there currently. I’m just renting a room but of course I have full access to Living Area and Kitchen etc.
The room isn’t epically large however I can see a few ways I can potentially get more space out of it. You can see from the below picture that I have some storage here, there’s actually a storage cupboard next to the wardrobe. The previous tenant had the bed against that wall and just left that door permenantly open. I’m thinking to take that door off and store it inside then just use the rest for storage of stuff I don’t use often. Then I would maybe keep the wardrobe where it is and put the bed opposite it so the end of the bed comes up to the wardobe side, or swapping the walls they are at. This then free’s up the rest of the room for my PC desk and VR space! The landlord said they would reorganize the room back to the way in the picture but yea, a little playing around I think I can still get some decent space out of this room.
The price for rent here is around £650 with bills included, This also includes 1GB Internet, which is shared amoungst all 6 of us, but other than media streaming I don’t think the rest will impact me much. I’ve lived on 75mb for the past 3-4 years so this shouldn’t be an issue at all.
The location in relation to work is around 45 minutes walk away, but I fully intend to buy a new bicycle and ride to work every day which should cut down my travel times to like 10-15 mins. Initially I’ll only come down with my Car which importantly the parking is good enough there, I may ask about keeping the Motorbike in the back garden, I’ll review this further down the line. The idea would be to get the Motorbike down too so if this house isn’t suitable I can look in 6 – 12 months for another place with good size room and somewhere to keep the bike. At least then I’ll be secure down here and can visit places to see in person, it’ll be much easier then.
The house does look nice, Ticks a lot of boxes. Generally pleased, could have been closer to work but oh well. This does lift a bit of stress and depression but also creates it’s own issues such as being so far away from family now, being around much more people I don’t know, having to go to an office, I don’t like speaking IRL, selective mutism, amoungst other things I need to go to doctor about.
Whilst taking care of a room has solved an issue, I still have many more issues to address and combat, just a small factor of things that affect my day to day life that I need to address.
Work wise, I’m due a promotion, have passed my exam, just an easy target to hit then I’m good, this will include salary increase. June next year my bike and car will be paid off so a bit extra money each month.
I’m trying my hardest to remain positive but at times I can’t cope and it shows in my mood or my behavior, As always, I’m sorry if you are on the recieving end of this or I make you worry.
